The COVID-19 crisis reveals the major structural weaknesses and inequalities that remain within our societies. Clearly, the crisis has the potential to further the social, political and economic divide in Europe. This turning point also presents opportunities to build healthier, fairer and more equal societies and reframe the progressive narrative of economic, social and global integration. This session reflects on Europe’s place in the world, and on the prospects for a progressive and inclusive recovery after the pandemic.
