Around the world, many administrations are moving from crisis management to restarting the economy. We must now think about how we can design an inclusive and sustainable economy. Due to the urgent task to reboot Europe’s economy, increasing levels of inequality, regional imbalances and emission-intensive industries, many challenges lie ahead. E. g., how can we address the current public health crisis in a manner that helps to also sustainably and fairly transform our economy? One answer could be an innovation-based economic stimulus package that addresses these challenges through the framework of digitalisation and tackling climate change. This session will focus on how such a stimulus package could look like and how it could be implemented.
