Yascha Mounk is a writer, academic, and public speaker known for his work on the rise of populism and the crisis of liberal democracy. His latest book "The People vs. Democracy" has been coined as one of 2018's Best Books of the Year by the Financial Times. He is a Contributing Editor at The Atlantic and regularly writes for The New York Times. Mounk is currently an Associate Professor of the Practice of International Affairs at the Johns Hopkins University. He also serves as senior advisor at 'Protect Democracy', senior fellow at the 'German Marshall Fund, Harvard's 'Ash Center for Democratic Governance', the New York University's 'Reiss Center on Law and Security', and as a term member of the 'Council on Foreign Relations'.
