Maja Göpel

Maja Göpel is Secretary-General of the German Advisory Council on Global Change and works at the interface of science, politics, and society on the topic of sustainability transformations. In her transdisciplinary career, she has spent six years as Future Justice Director at the World Future Council in Hamburg and Brussels, where she represented the interests of future generations in EU and UN processes. She is a member of the Club of Rome, the World Future Council and the Balaton Group. Göpel serves as Professor at the Leuphana University of Lüneburg and as Fellow at Das Progressive Zentrum. As a member of the advisory board, she supports several foundations and projects and is one of the initiators of Scientists4Future.
