John Halpin is a senior fellow at the Center for American Progress (CAP) focusing on campaigns and elections, political ideology, and public opinion analysis. He has been at CAP since its founding in 2003 and currently serves as the co-director of its Politics and Elections program. Over a 20-year career in the fields of public opinion and election analysis, he has written extensively on voter attitudes about domestic and foreign policy with research featured in publications including The New York Times, The Washington Post, Financial Times, The Boston Globe, Foreign Policy, Foreign Affairs, The American Prospect, and The Atlantic. He has conducted political polling for a variety of U.S. Democratic and progressive issue campaigns as well as for the UK Labour Party, the Austrian Social Democrats, and the Israeli Labor Party.
