About the Session
Heiko Maas on the Presidency of the Council of the European Union
Heiko Maas, Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs of Germany, will set the tone for the third day of our Digital Summit with a keynote speech on Germany’s priorities when holding the Presidency of the Council of the European Union. This call to action comes under the urgency of emerging from the coronavirus crisis as a stronger European Union. It is clear that this is a moment in history that progressives across Europe must seize. To do so, a bold and courageous European civil society must stand up for a unified and equitable European Union. Could this then introduce a new normality based on solidarity, a unified European recovery plan, and strengthened institutions that are sustainable and just? Join us for this timely address, as progressives across Europe and the world debate and collaborate on the future of our institutions, politics, and societies.
