Lia Quartapelle is a member of the Italian Parliament for Partito Democratico. She studied economics and developmental research at the University of Pavia, received a master's at the University of SOAS University of London, and development economics at the University of Florenz. Before being an MP, she worked as economic advisor for the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation in Mozambique and as a research assistant in the Africa program of ISPI in Mailand.
