Miriam Levin serves as Head of Community Action for the UK Government. She runs national community empowerment programmes including: trialing deliberative democracy to open up local government decision-making to residents through citizens' assemblies, creating active and mobilised citizens through community organising training, and supporting partnerships of citizens, civil society organisations and local authorities to work together to tackle issues through social action. Previously, she worked as a senior consultant at Soundings. There she led community engagement work around regeneration and was Head of Outreach at English Heritage. Her postgraduate studies have taken her to become knowledgeable in several disciplines, ranging from archaeology to museology, regeneration and urban design.
