Dr Arianna Giovannini is Associate Professor/Reader in Local Politics & Public Policy at the De Montfort University Leicester, where she is the Deputy Director of the Local Governance Research Centre (LGRC) and a member of the Centre for Urban Research and Austerity (CURA). Between July 2019 and February 2020 she was Director of IPPR North, the leading think-tank for the North of England, on a secondment basis. She is an elected Trustee of the UK Political Studies Association (PSA), the co-convenor of the PSA Local Politics Specialist Group, and the Chair the PSA Italian Politics Specialist Group. She is an Associate Fellow of the Centre on Constitutional Change (University of Edinburgh), and a Honorary Research Fellow at SPERI (University of Sheffield), and a Fellow of the RSA.
