Miguel Costa Matos is the youngest MP in the Portuguese Parliament. He studied Philosophy, Politics and Economics at the University of Warwick and holds a Masters in Economics from the Nova School of Business and Economics, in Lisbon. After working in the private sector and as a Public Finance and Budget Specialist in the Portuguese Ministry of Finance, Miguel Costa Matos was an economic advisor to Prime Minister António Costa from September 2017 to October 2019. He also holds an elected office in the local government, leads the Lisbon Region of the Socialist Youth (JS Portugal) and continues to participate in political activism.
